LEED Qualification

TapanAm brings knowledge and experience with all facets of Sustainable Design and the associated leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program.
We have in-house LEED Accredited staff who have the experience necessary to guide and manage a design and construction program to whatever LEED Certification Level is desired.

Our experience in Green rating system includes:

  • Sustainable Sites
  • Water Efficiency
  • Energy & Atmosphere
  • Materials & Resources
  • Indoor Environmental Quality
  • Innovation in operation, Upgrades and Maintenance

1) New IRS Complex (1.2 million sq. ft.) at Downtown Kansas City, MO.
TapanAm was given the task for calculating energy consumption and compare against ASHRAE 90.1. Baseline design to evaluate any scorings to win LEED Accreditation points.
TapanAm’s LEED Design Team Created an ENERGY Model using eQuest Software (DOE-II) and concluded the analysis with a positive result to win the Green Building credit. The project was led by our Lead M/E/P Engineer Ken Diehl, P.E., LEED.

2) Fire Station #19, Kansas City, MO.
TapanAm’s Civil Engineering Department led by Paul R. Parks, P.E., contributed to 4 LEED points for this new building and site improvements design.

POINT SYSTEM

4.1 Alternative Transportation 1 point
6.1 Stormwater Design
(Quantity Control) 1 point
6.2 Stormwater Design
(Quality Control) 1 point
1.1 Water Efficient Landscaping
(Reduce by 50%) 1 point

Total 4 LEED points

3) Kansas City, Missouri LEED Services

TapanAm was selected by the City of Kansas City Missouri to serve on a highly qualified team of LEED design professionals, headed by BNIM architects.

This team provides guidance to the City in developing LEED principals and standards to be applied to all KCMO construction projects.
